MBTI Workshops
Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - Effectiveness and Work Relationships
Understand the impact of personality
Personality theory recognizes that humans have different preferences and approaches for interacting and working with people. Differences that should be seen as interesting and valuable rather than problematic.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) highlights these differences and patterns in work relationships. Just as important, it shows you how different perspectives and methods foster a healthy, productive work environment that can lead to better problem solving.
Improve performance
HSD® offers and facilitates three levels of workshops using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator metric as a tool for improving individual, team and organizational work relationships effectiveness. All three workshops utilize the MBTI assessment tool which, after more than 40 years of development, has become one of the most widely-used psychological tools in the world.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator reflects individual preferences for energy (Extraversion and Introversion), information gathering (Sensing and Intuition), decision making (Thinking and Feeling), and lifestyle (Judging and Perceiving). Sixteen unique and different personality types result from the combination of the four MBTI preference scales.
Choose the workshop that's right for you
There's an HSD® Myers-Briggs Type Indicator workshop that meets your needs:
- Introduction to the MBTI — for open enrollment within an organization; participants may represent a variety of functions and roles
- Teams and the MBTI — for team leaders, team members, cross-functional groups
- Team Feedback and the MBTI — uses an on-line work team assessment along with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
What are the workshop benefits?
All three workshops provide participants with a greater knowledge of personality types, specifically the personality types of the people they work with on a day-to-day basis. Team members are able to appreciate the unique gifts and talents people bring to the team. And they become more tolerant of personality differences. This new knowledge also improves work relationships because of the way people:
- deal with conflict
- share information
- solve problems.
In all sessions, participants leave with an action plan to improve their effectiveness.
Added feedback assessment
You may also incorporate HSDŽ's on-line team feedback assessment into the session. The team feedback metric helps people see how personality types and various work relationships influence the total team. Each participant receives an Introduction to Type and Teams booklet that describes all personality types represented on the team. Team members also receive a report on the team's effectiveness from the team feedback questionnaire.
Process
Step 1. Discuss objectives and expectations with the team leader, distribute MBTI questionnaire to participants.
Step 2. Compile the MBTI data, prepare individual feedback reports. Prepare materials and handouts.
Step 3. Conduct a four-hour introduction to the MBTI session.
Step 4. Review outcomes and session evaluations with the client.
